We arrived too early to check in and were able to leave our luggage at the very helpful front desk. Matteo was a charming young man that was always so eager to help us and had the nicest smile on his face at all times! Our room was large with really high ceilings and we had a few steps leading up to an outdoor patio from our room. The bed was SO comfortable and everything was very clean. The bathroom was really large with a massive tub/shower. The breakfast that was included was so amazing, I got used to eggs and bacon and 2 delicious chocolate croissants each morning! Many delicious items to choose from. Unfortunately my husband had become very sick so after 3 days, we needed to fly home. We were so dissapointed we didn't get to stay our full week in this beautiful hotel. We had to leave at 4:30 am to catch a train and Matteo left us each a goody bag for our travels, and wished us well. Thank you Matteo and the other staff there for helping make our stay so memorable! Don't expect luxury but a charming historical place. Like most Italian buildings, the hotel, which is a former monastery, needs renovation, but we loved the calm of our room and terrace and the inner courtyard after strolling around the historical city (10-minute walk to Duomo). The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, including for recovering my identity card lost somewhere else. Ask them for advice in terms of local restaurants, it's worth it (and you'll understand why those around Piazza del Campo are not full). Also make sure to follow their access instructions and to mark Porta San Marco (and not the hotel address) in your GPS.

We got room N 29 and we had a large window the most spectacular view of the Siena Hills. Sitting in bed with morning sun and looking at Tuscan countryside was really pleasant. The hotel has plenty of charm, even if not always the most modern facilities (e.g. bathroom). Because it is a bit off the beaten track, it is also very quiet, a rarity in Siena. I would certainly go back! Breakfast starting at 8 am was a bit late for our schedule.

The building is simply amazing. It is like diving in the past or entering a time capsule. Utterly loved the courtyard, which operates also as a relaxing bar with quite reasonable prices. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and eager to assist you in any possible way. The breakfast was adequate with a slight tendency to sweet savours, but overall very nice.

I loved the room, the view was probably the best view EVER and the whole environment was excellence, especially if you are looking for your EAT, PRAY LOVE kind of experience! The place was very clean, the air-con was easy to use and the bed SUPER COMFY. Breakfast was good, not excellent but that is rare and the staff was great.
